Rainwater treatment system
A rainwater treatment system has been filtering the street wastewater since 2019, which previously flowed unhindered from Luruper Hauptstraße and Elbgaustraße into Vorhorngraben. The system cost € 1.1 million. The street wastewater first undergoes mechanical pre-treatment and then biological treatment in a reed-planted basin. The water cleaned in this way is seeped into another basin for groundwater recharge. The catchment area for this plant is approximately 37.6 hectares.
