The Vorthbach is a right tributary of the Boye in the Ruhr area . It is 4.1 kilometers long and drains an area of 7.19 km². The course of the stream runs entirely on Bottrop's urban area. After the Spechtsbach it is the second longest right tributary of the Boye.

The Vorthbach rises in the district of Fuhlenbrock , near the border with the Oberhausen city area. It flows through the Stadtgarten and past Bottrop Nord Bahnhof, parallel to the associated freight rail link. In the Eigen it flows into the Boye near the Stenkhoffbad.
history
After the stream served as a Köttelbecke for decades and carried the sewage to the region, the Emschergenossenschaft began with the renaturalization. The first section was completed in 2002. The conversion was completed in 2011 as part of the conversion of the Emscher system . Since the redesign, large sections have been used as a local recreation area, which has been equipped with a parallel cycle and hiking trail.
