Vorwärts Tirol is a political party in Austria . In the state elections on April 28, 2013 , the party immediately received 9.54% of the vote and thus 4 seats in the Tyrolean state parliament . After the mandataries resigned and were excluded from the party, the party was no longer represented in the state parliament from 2015. The mandataries now sat in the state parliament as an impulse tyrol , but could not hold their mandates in the state elections in Tyrol 2018 .

Principles

Vorwärts Tirol describes itself as the only bourgeois alternative and, apart from party-political and ideological constraints, would like to concentrate more on a participatory, performance and solution-oriented policy in Tyrol. The focus should not be on the politicians' party affiliation, but rather on their competence and their solution-oriented approach to important political problems and issues. This should make the concerns of the citizens more clearly visible and audible again.

History and foundation

The new list “Vorwärts Tirol” was presented on January 16, 2013, after the possibility of establishing such a civil list had been discussed long in advance. The then mayor of Innsbruck, Christine Oppitz-Plörer , was instrumental in founding the company alongside the former ÖVP politician Anna Hosp . The current club chairman, Hans Lindenberger, was heavily involved in founding this new list and was also the party's top candidate.

This circumstance should show that the newly founded party wants to position itself fundamentally differently when it comes to party membership and a clear political orientation, as Hans Lindenberger worked for the SPÖ in the state parliament under the state government of van Staa II and even as a state councilor in the government .

Anna Hosp was also state councilor under the state government of van Staa II, but left the government after the state elections in 2008 and switched to the private sector. In the course of her return to politics she took a clear position against the ÖVP under the leadership of Günther Platter .

Conflict and secession

After internal disputes within the party, MP Andrea Krumschnabel was expelled from the state parliament and party in 2014 .

The trigger for the conflict was the result of the state elections in Tyrol in 2013 , after which Vorwärts Tirol immediately received 9.54% of the votes and four seats in the Tyrolean state parliament , but after their allocation of seats, it was not the party founder Anna Hosp , but Hans Lindenberger , Maria Zwölfer , Andrea Krumschnabel and Josef Schett for Vorwärts Tirol were represented in the state parliament.

Subsequently, according to their own statements, the MPs were advised by the party founders Anna Hosp and Innsbruck mayor Christine Oppitz-Plörer to resign from their mandate in order to enable Anna Hosp to join the state parliament. When this did not happen, an election sponsor close to the party founder Hosp filed several complaints about open credit. Due to further incidents, such as the resignation of the party executive, Krumschnabel's expulsion from the party and investigations into suspected infidelity, the conflict between the Landtag club and the party leadership came to a head that Zwölfer, Lindenberger and Schett split off from Vorwärts Tirol in 2015 to join the The newly founded impuls-tirol party to continue its work in the state parliament.

All statements of facts brought by club chairman Hans Lindenberger because of infidelity, bogus invoices, etc. against the party leadership of Vorwärts Tirol were discontinued or rejected by the public prosecutor. On June 28, 2017, the three MPs from impuls-tirol were sentenced by the Supreme Court to pay damages of around € 1.8 million on the basis of a written commitment from December 2013 to apply for party support for the Vorwärts Tirol party , since the three MPs had not applied for party funding for Vorwärts Tirol since the spin-off from Vorwärts Tirol in 2015. It is unique in the domestic political landscape of the 2nd Republic that members of the state parliament have been sentenced by the highest court to pay personal compensation for deliberate and politically tactical calculations.

The party did not run for the 2018 state election .

Structure of the party

The board of Vorwärts Tirol resigned on July 8, 2013. Hans Lindenberger previously held the position of chairman of the board in addition to his role as the top candidate on the state list. The deputy chairmen were Maria Zwölfer, Josef Schett and Andrea Krumschnabel until the new board members were elected on July 19, 2013.

After several internal party disputes and a general assembly held, Hans Lindenberger became club chairman and Andres Krumschnabel became club chairwoman deputy.

At the general assembly on June 28, 2014, the new board under the leadership of party chairman Hansjörg Peer was elected without a dissenting vote.
