Votive pick

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Votivhacke from limestone is an artifact that several copies in Portuguese Caves ( Caves of Cascais ) and megaliths ( Anta da Estria , Baútas Carenque , Palmela 1 , Samarra and S. Martinho de Sintra - most west of Lisbon ) completely or in Fragments - was found.

The example of the Iberian Votivhacke is tethered to a wooden shaft adze . The connection of the stone hoe to the wooden shaft can be recognized by 5 to 6 parallel grooves. The point of separation between the heel and the shaft is emphasized by a small paragraph in the case of several pieces. The heel on the back of the handle was used for additional attachment by a cord drawn from the tip of the hoe, an assumption that Georg and Vera Leisner have proven in Egyptian representations. Such a shank can be assumed in most of the large, partly curved flat hoes, as they are common in Aljezur , occur in the rest of the Algarve ( Marcella ) and occur in the Tejo region ( Trigache , Conchadas , Palmela , Casainhos and Casal do Penedo ).
