Voyage. Travel & Tourism Research Yearbook

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Voyage. Yearbook for Travel & Tourism Research ( English Voyage. Studies on Travel & Tourism ) is an interdisciplinary periodical devoted to the subject of travel, especially tourism .

It was founded in 1997 by journalists, tourism and cultural researchers in collaboration with DuMont-Verlag and is aimed at experts and interested laypeople alike.

Founding editors: Tobias Gohlis , Christoph Hennig, Jürgen Kagelmann, Dieter Kramer, Hasso Spode ; added came Dieter Richter . Well-known experts from Germany and abroad are represented on the advisory board (including Konrad Köstlin , Roger Willemsen , Gerhard Schulze , Stephen Greenblatt and John Urry ), but the readership is limited to the German-speaking area. After DuMont-Verlag was sold in 2004, Voyage was initially published by Profil-Verlag, and since 2011 by Metropol Verlag under the direction of Hasso Spode.

Each band has a different focus, for example "Why travel?", "Travel & Eat", or the "Hotel"; the newest volume (2014) asks about the diversity and ambivalence of (post) modern "mobilities". The contributions are published in German with an English summary.
