Vytautas Antanas Kleiza

Vytautas Antanas Kleiza (born January 30, 1919 in Pakuonis , Prienai district ; † December 27, 2007 ) was a Soviet-Lithuanian professor and surgeon .

Life

In 1944 he graduated from Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas . 1944–1950 he taught at this university (from 1946 Kaunas State University ). From 1950 to 1953 he was the chief surgeon of the Šiauliai region and from 1953 to 1956 the chief surgeon of the municipality of Šiauliai . From 1956 to 1960 he worked as chief physician at the Vilnius Red Cross Hospital in Vilnius . From 1960 to 1980 he was Minister at the Ministry of Health of Lithuania . In 1966 he received his doctorate in medicine . From 1966 to 1972 he taught at Vilnius University , from 1969 as a lecturer . From 1980 to 1994 he worked at the Vilnius Oncology Center .

His grave is in the Antakalnis cemetery .

1964–1980 he was a member of the Central Committee of the CPSU of the Communist Party of Lithuania . From 1963 to 1980 he was a deputy in the LSSR Supreme Soviet.
