history

The village, known as Wolken before 1785, originally consisted of a few small farms. In 1874 the rural community Wolka was incorporated into the newly established district of Groß Piwnitz (Polish: Piwnice Wielkie ), which - renamed in 1938 to "District of Großalbrechtsdort" - belonged to the East Prussian district of Ortelsburg .

In 1910 there were 148 inhabitants registered in Wolka, in 1925 there were 169.

As a result of the war, Wolka / Georgsheide came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia . The place received the Polish name form "Wólka Wielbarska" (the addition refers to the geographical proximity to the city of Wielbark in the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship ). Today the local office is orphaned, just like that of the neighboring village Trzcianka (Rohrdorf) . It is located in the area of the urban and rural municipality Chorzele in the powiat Przasnyski , until 1998 the Ostrołęka Voivodeship , since then assigned to the Masovian Voivodeship .
