Władysław Mazurkiewicz (born January 31, 1887 in Warsaw , † 1963 ) was a Polish diplomat .

Life

Władysław Mazurkiewicz was the son of Michalina Piotrowska and Jan Mazurkiewicz and married Nieves Ramos Montero, their son was Ladislao Mazurkiewicz . He studied in Warsaw Law and until 1909 at the Moscow State University . In 1917 he entered the foreign service of the Regency Kingdom of Poland , headed the consular department in 1918 and the personnel department in the Foreign Ministry in 1919.

From 1921 to April 1, 1922 he was Chargé d'affaires in Rio de Janeiro . He then headed the Polish diplomatic mission in Buenos Aires until June 30, 1936 ; initially as chargé d'affaires, but was accredited as envoy on May 27, 1925. At the same time he was ambassador to Montevideo , Asunción , Lima , La Paz and Quito .

From 1937 to 1939 he was a professor at Wolna Wszechnica Polska ( Free Polish University ). A year later he was appointed envoy of the Polish government-in-exile in London in Santiago de Chile until 1945 .
