mode

In the regular season, the four teams played 24 games each. The two first-placed teams met in the playoffs in the return leg, with the team with the better goal difference from both games receiving the championship title. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a defeat.

Season course

In the newly founded WCHL, a close duel for first place in the regular season between the teams from Edmonton, Regina and Calgary, all of which were only two points apart at the end of the season, developed in their premiere season. Only the Saskatoon Crescents could not hold out with the other teams and ended the season in Moose Jaw, where they continued to play as Crescents from February 3, 1922. In the playoff series for the championship title, the Edmonton Eskimos were defeated by the Regina Capitals with 2: 3 goals (1: 1/1: 2) and moved into the Stanley Cup Challenge.
