Waaswitz is a district of Brahmenau in the Greiz district in Thuringia .

Waaswitz is located northeast of Gera in the arable farming area around Ronneburg and Zeitz on the edge of the Leipzig lowland bay near Brahmenau. The area is characterized by traffic routes and green erosion channels and streams.
history
Waaswitz is a former Sorbian village, which was probably first mentioned in 1333. On October 1, 1922, Waaswitz was incorporated into Culm . Culm was renamed Brahmenau on November 13, 1937 .
