Wagakki Band ( Jap. 和楽器バンド , Wagakki Bando ) is a Japanese shigin - rock band , the traditional Japanese instruments shakuhachi , koto , shamisen and taiko used.

Band name

In Japan, the general term for a musical instrument gakki is added to indicate whether the musical instrument is uchi (“inside”) or soto (“outside”). So-called uchi instruments are called wagakki ( 和 楽 器 , "(traditional) Japanese musical instruments").

history

The music video Tengaku ( 天 樂 ) has been viewed more than 21 million times and the YouTube video for Senbonzakura ( 千 本 桜 ) has been viewed more than 120 million times. The song Senbonsakura (German: one thousand cherry blossoms ) is an example of a successful cover version of a computer-generated vocaloid song, here of the character Hatsune Miku (初 音 ミ ク). Her first album Vocal Zanmai debuted at number 5 on the Japanese Oricon charts. In 2014 they were invited to the 15th  Japan Expo in France . In May 2015 they played their first independent concert in Taipei . In July 2015, they performed at the Anime Expo in Los Angeles . Her Japan tour began in September 2015.
