Location of Wagenhausen in Bavaria

Wagenhausen is a district of the Lower Franconian municipality of Theres in the Haßberge district .

Geographical location

The village is north of Theres. It is connected to the south with Untertheres via the district road HAS 27 . The Grabenmühlbach, which rises to the northeast, flows through the village and flows into the Main almost 2 km south .

history

The first documentary mention of Wagenhausen took place in 1303. In 1366 the place came to the Theres monastery . From July 12, 1438 Wagenhausen belonged to the Untertheres parish; at that time the place was a desolation .

The hunting lodge and later forester's lodge was built towards the end of the 18th century. It originally belonged to Theres Monastery. In 1919, five of the six farms were owned by Richard von Swaine.

After the end of the Second World War , six displaced farmers settled in Wagenhausen.

On May 1, 1978 Wagenhausen, which until then belonged to Untertheres, became a district of Theres as part of the municipal reform .
