The Waginger Rowing Club (short: WRV or WaRV ) is a rowing club in Waging am See , directly on Waginger and Tachinger See .
history
The Waginger Rowing Club was founded in 1992 as a rowing department of the Waginger sailing club. In 1994 the club joined the Bavarian Rowing Association, a regional association of the German Rowing Association . In addition, the first boat shelter was built that year. A year later the club also became a member of the German Rowing Association.
On November 28, 1997 the Waginger Ruderverein e. V. founded, a year later the division in the sailing club was also dissolved. In addition, the first boathouse was built in 1998 . In 2003 the first two bronze medals were won at the German U-17 championships and two gold medals at the German sprint championships. Two years later the club won the first gold medal at the German Junior Championships . In 2008, the club also joined the Bavarian Disabled Sports Association in order to be able to set up a department for para rowers . A year later, Anke Molkenthin won silver at the Rowing World Cup and bronze at the 2009 World Rowing Championships with the LTAMix4 + . In 2010 and 2011 Molkenthin was able to repeat this success for the Waginger rowing club.
The association has also been planning to build a new boathouse since 2011. In 2012 Anke Molkenthin won the silver medal at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. A year later she won the silver medal in the LTAMix2x at the 2013 World Rowing Championships .
Ruperti Cup
The Waginger rowing club has been organizing the Ruperti Cup regatta since 2010 . The name comes from the Rupertiwinkel , which circles the whole region. The route crosses both lakes and is 19 kilometers long. The start is at the height of the Kurhaus in Waging am See. First you drive towards Petting , there you turn around and you drive towards the start again. When you have reached the start, row towards Tettenhausen . There a bridge is crossed and the Tachinger See is entered. After the bridge you row to Tengling , where you turn around and drive back. Since the regatta takes place at the end of October, only four or eight teams are allowed to start. The Ruperti Cup was held for the sixth time on October 31, 2015.
