Election to the territorial assembly in Upper Volta 1957
The first elections to the Territorial Assembly in French Upper Volta were held on March 31, 1957 .
The result was a victory for the United Democratic Party (a coalition of the Voltaic Democratic Union - African Democratic Collection and the Social Party for the Equality of the African Masses ), which together won 35 of the 68 seats in the Territorial Assembly.
