Socialist Party and PPD
The Partido Socialista de Chile was founded in 1933, but the later party chairman Marmaduque Grove took part in the presidential elections the year before. Because the party was still banned in 1989, the sister party Partido por la Democrácia was founded, which continues to this day. Double memberships are possible.

Christian Democrats
The Partido Demócrata Cristiano de Chile (DC) ( Christian Democratic Party of Chile ) was founded in 1957. The most important predecessor party was the Falange Nacional , which had split off from the Conservative Party in 1938 . Because the Falange remained an insignificant splinter party until 1937 with never more than four percent of the vote, it is not listed here. The 1957 parliamentary election (which is included in the table) took place a few months before the name change.

Communist Party
The Partido Obrero Socialista (POS), founded in 1912 by the father of the Chilean labor movement, Luis Emilio Recabarren , was renamed Partido Comunista de Chile (PCCh) in 1922. It was not until 1927, and under the impression of the repression of the Ibañez dictatorship, that she was accepted into the Comintern . Although the POS had up to two members of parliament in the 1920s, the POS / PCCh remained a splinter party until the 1930s. Therefore, only the election results from 1932 are listed here. President Arturo Alessandri banned the party in the parliamentary elections in 1937, 1941 and 1945 through the Ley de Seguridad Interior del Estado , whereupon the communists ran under the names Partido Nacional Democrático and Partido Progresista Nacional . From 1948 to 1958 the PCCh was again banned, this time by the Ley Maldita . The first election after the transition in 1989 was boycotted by the PCCh.

National Party and Renovación Nacional
The Partido Nacional (PN) ( National Party ) was a right-wing conservative party that emerged in 1965 from the country's two oldest parties, the Partido Conservador (PC) and the Partido Liberal (PL). It dissolved after the 1973 coup it supported . The Renovación Nacional (RN), which emerged at the end of the 1980s, is not a legal successor to the PN, but is so closely related to it ideologically, politically and personally that they are presented here in a table. In 1965 the added results of PC and PL are presented.

Election results according to phases of the party system
The Second Party System: 1932–56
The period between the dictatorship of Carlos Ibáñez del Campo and his presidency constitutes the second phase in Chilean party history. Here workers' parties established themselves in the political system and thus the radicals slipped into the center of the party landscape. The time was marked by the Frente Popular (Chile) and ended by the anti-party government of Ibañez, which represented a serious crisis for the Chilean political parties.

senate
The Senate was fully elected in 1989 (38 elected). There were also 9 appointed senators (abolished in 2006), most of whom were on the side of the Alianza. In the years 1993, 2001, 2009 ... in the regions I., III., V., VII., IX., XI. elected and in 1997, 2005, ... in regions II., IV. VI., VIII., X., XII. and Metropolitana. Regions I. - IV. And X. - XII. provide two senators and regions V. - IX. and Metropolitana four each. That is why 18 and 20 new Senate seats are alternately elected. Voting is also based on the binomial voting system . So far, in every election in every region, the Senate seats have been allocated symmetrically to the Concertación and the Alianza pro Chile (or their predecessor alliances), except
- 1989 in the VI. Region (O'Higgins): 2 Concertación, 0 Alianza
- 1989 in Region VII (Maule): 3 Concertación, 1 Alianza
