The Wahlscheid-Seelscheid loess area , also known as the Südbergische loess plateau , is, according to the handbook of the natural spatial structure of Germany, a natural spatial unit with the ordinal number 338.6 in the Bergisches Land , part of the Rhenish slate mountains . The loess area lies between the lower Sülz in the west and the Bröl plateau in the east.

It comprises parts of the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis around Neunkirchen-Seelscheid and the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis around the Lohmarer district Wahlscheid and borders in the north on the Agger-Sülz plateaus (ordinal number 338.4), in the west on the Bergische Heideterrasse (550) in the Lower Rhine Bay (55), in the south to the Mitteliegtal (330.1) and in the east to the Mucher plateau (338.5) and the Bröl plateau (338.7). The Agger cuts the loess area in two.
