criticism

The lexicon of international film judged that the film production was a "partly quite half-baked first work". It would anticipate "themes of his [Scorseses] later films". The film conveys an "authentic atmosphere of the heroes' urban living space". This, as well as the “directness” of the film, would overcome its “theses”.
