Walburga Zizka

Walburga Zizka (born January 17, 1933 in Holzhausen an der Haide as Walburga Haas; † April 4, 1994 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German social politician ( CDU ).

Walburga Zizka was married to Cyril Zizka and is the mother of Georg Zizka (* 1955), Deputy Managing Director of the Institute for Ecology , Evolution and Biodiversity of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and an honorary member of the Palmengarten Frankfurt Society and Peter Zizka ( * 1961), designer and concept artist .

Public offices

After many years of work as a civilian employee in the air traffic control office of the Bundeswehr , her time began in 1977 in the city council for the CDU, of which she was a member until her death on April 4, 1994, most recently as a member of the presidium .

Walburga Zizka has made a name for herself as a citizen-oriented social politician in the Frankfurt area. In 2006 the Industriehof dedicated a street name to her, the Walburga-Zizka-Weg.

Honors

For her social commitment, Walburga Zizka was awarded the Roman plaque of the city of Frankfurt am Main in gold in 1993 and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .
