The forest railway Bely Rutschei ( Russian Белоручейская узкоколейная железная дорога , transkr. Belorutscheiskaja uskokoleinaja schelesnaja doroga , transl. Beloručejskaâ uzkokolejnaâ železnaâ doroga ) is a narrow-gauge railway at Depo in Rajon Vytegra the Vologda Oblast in Russia .

history

The 63 km long forest railway was put into operation in 1922 and is still in operation all year round (2015). It has a track width of 750 mm.

The total length of the tracks was temporarily more than 110 km. Today it is used for the transport of wood and for the transport of forest workers. In 2014 the tracks were repaired in places.

Freight and passenger cars

There are several log wagons, open and closed freight wagons, tank trucks, bulk goods wagons for transporting gravel during track construction, as well as at least one snow plow and a crane of the LP-19 type. In addition to passenger cars, there are also simple dining or lounge cars.
