Waldemar Steubing

Waldemar Steubing (born November 30, 1959 in Neulußheim ) is a former German soccer player who played a total of 93 games (seven goals) in the Bundesliga for Bayer 05 Uerdingen and FC St. Pauli . He also came to 225 second division games and 60 goals.

Career

After two years with the amateur league club VfR Mannheim , the striker was signed by Bayer 05 Uerdingen in 1980, where he made 27 Bundesliga appearances in the 1980/81 season but was unable to prevent relegation. Steubing played for Uerdingen until 1983, when he switched to league rivals SG Wattenscheid 09 . For the Wattenscheider he scored 29 goals in 89 second division games in three years. His next club stations were SG Union Solingen , Arminia Bielefeld and SSV Ulm 1846 . After Ulm's relegation from the second division in 1988, Steubing moved back to the first division and joined FC St. Pauli. In the 1991/92 season he played for Hannover 96 . He then returned to his home in Baden-Württemberg and played for SV Schwetzingen and Amicitia Viernheim .
