Valentin Borisovich Bubukin
Valentin Borissowitsch Bubukin ( Russian Валентин Борисович Бубукин ; born April 23, 1933 in Moscow ; † October 30, 2008 ibid) was a Soviet football player who was mostly used on the offensive.
Bubukin won the Soviet Football Cup with Lokomotiv Moscow in 1957 and was second in the Soviet championship in 1959 with the team. From 1961 to 1962 he played for CSKA Moscow , but switched back to Lokomotiv Moscow in 1963. In 1965 he ended his career as an active player.
Bubukin was in the squad of the Soviet national team at the 1958 World Cup in Sweden , but he did not come to a use during this tournament. He played his first international match in September 1959 against Czechoslovakia. With the Soviet team in 1960 he won the European Football Championship , which was held in France for the first time that year and was then called the "European Cup of Nations". In total he played 11 times for the national team and scored four goals.
After his active career as a footballer, he was head coach of the clubs Lokomotiv Moscow (1966 to 1968) Tawrija Simferopol (1970 to 1972) and Karpaty Lviv (1972 to 1974). From 1975 to 1987 he worked in the coaching staff of CSKA Moscow. Bubukin died in 2008 at the age of 76.
