The pilgrimage church of the Virgin Mary in Křtiny (Czech Poutní kostel Jména Panny Marie ve Křtinách ) is a pilgrimage church in Křtiny near Brno in the Czech Republic .

Křtiny is a heavily frequented pilgrimage site, which is located in a picturesque wooded valley near Blansko . The mighty church building has a cruciform floor plan with a monumental dome . It was built from 1712 to 1750 by Franz Ritz from Brno. The building was designed by one of the most important Bohemian architects of the Baroque era , Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel . The ship is 65 meters long, 35 meters high and wide. The church has a 73 meter high tower and receives light through more than 30 windows.

In the center of the church is the free-standing main altar surrounded by pillars. The grace statue of Our Lady of Kiritein is venerated by pilgrims. This Virgin Mary statue with baby Jesus dates from the 14th century and was later supplemented with baroque ornaments. The church is decorated with a dome fresco by Johann Georg Etgens . Andreas Schweigel acted as a sculptor . The high altar painting is by Joseph Winterhalter , the Way of the Cross by the Jesuit painter Ignaz Raab . On the right side of the church there is a corridor with a chapel of St. Anne , the patron saint of the family.
