Wallrath (Juchen)

Wallrath is a district of Jüchen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

Wallrath was first mentioned in 1301 in a land purchase agreement. At that time, Gerhard V. (Jülich) sold all of his goods that were in Wallrath and Schelsen to Bernhard von Wech and his heirs. The certificate is now in the Neuss city archive.

Further evidence of the early mention of the village is a seal with the inscription: "LATH SIGIL 1554 WALRATH".

The district has around 215 inhabitants today.
