Spenrath (during the resettlement of Neu-Spenrath ) forms together with Otzenrath the district of Otzenrath / Spenrath of the city of Jüchen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The original village Alt-Spenrath had the Garzweiler of RWE Power soft. The last building was demolished in 2013. Most of the residents were relocated to the new district of Neu-Spenrath.

Neu-Spenrath borders Neu-Otzenrath in the north, Schaan in the east, Hackhausen in the south , and Hochneukirch and Neu-Holz in the west .

history

The groundbreaking ceremony took place in August 1999 on the site of today's Neu-Spenrath. Since then the place has been growing steadily.

The Janusz Korczak Primary School is located in neighboring Neu-Otzenrath . There is a secondary school in Hochneukirch. Realschule and grammar school are located directly in Jüchen.

Neu-Spenrath is connected to the public transport network of Niederrheinische Verkehr undversorgung AG (NVV) with the “Jüchen, Baumstraße” bus stop . The train stations and schools in Jüchen and Hochneukirch can be reached by bus.

Highway

The closest motorway junctions are Mönchengladbach-Odenkirchen on the A 44 and Mönchengladbach-Güdderath on the A 61 . The B 59 runs north of the village.
