Walter Bauer Prize
The Walter Bauer Prize is a literary prize that is awarded every two years in accordance with the "Agreement between the cities of Merseburg and Leuna on the joint award of the Walter Bauer Prize and a Walter Bauer Scholarship" on July 15, 2005. The award commemorates the Merseburg- born writer Walter Bauer .
In the preamble of the statutes for the award of the Walter Bauer Prize it says: “His extensive oeuvre expresses his irrepressible desire for freedom, independence and freedom. With his message of humanity and his commitment to the European spirit, Walter Bauer is one of the well-known authors of the 20th century. "
Prize winners were and will be personalities who have a literary effect in the spirit of Walter Bauer.
