Wilhelm Bartsch (born August 2, 1950 in Eberswalde ) is a German writer .

Life

Wilhelm Bartsch completed an apprenticeship as a cattle breeder after graduating from high school. He then studied philosophy at the University of Leipzig . He carried out various activities, including a. he was a proofreader in Karl-Marx-Stadt as well as a dramaturge , home educator and postal worker in Halle (Saale) , where he has lived since 1976. Bartsch has been a freelance writer since 1986. In 1987/88 and 1989/90 he took part in courses at the "Johannes R. Becher" literary institute in Leipzig .

Wilhelm Bartsch's work includes poetry, prose, essays and books for children and young people. He also works as an editor and translator from Serbo-Croatian .

Wilhelm Bartsch is a member of the Association of German Writers , the German PEN Center , the Support Group for Writers in Saxony-Anhalt and the Friedrich Bödecker Circle . Bartsch has also been a member of the Saxon Academy of the Arts since 2010 and belongs to the Orpheus group of authors .
