Walter Achilles

Walter Achilles (born May 26, 1927 in Lutter am Barenberge ; † September 9, 2002 ) was a German historian .

Achilles completed his studies at the Hohenheim Agricultural University and graduated in 1951 with a degree in agriculture. In 1959 he received his doctorate in Göttingen with a thesis on "Grain prices and grain trade relations in European regions in the 16th and 17th centuries". In 1976 he became an adjunct professor in Göttingen. He later held the chair for agricultural history at the Georg-August University in Göttingen .
