Walter Bénéteau (born July 28, 1972 in Les Essarts ) is a former French cyclist .

In 1996 Walter Bénéteau won the GP Cristal Energie , in 1996 the overall ranking of the Tour de Guadeloupe , 1997 the Tour du Finistère and in the same year the Trio Normand , together with Gregory Barbier and Christian Blanchard . From 2000 to 2006 he started for the same team, which however changed its name twice. He started seven times in the Tour de France ; his best placement was 42nd in 2001 ; that year he was also the French runner-up in road racing . He competed once each in the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España . In 2000 and 2003 he won the Circuit de l'Aulne . In 2006 he ended his cycling career.
