Walter Baum

Walter Baum (born May 23, 1921 in Gummersbach ; † March 8, 2007 in Bad Soden ) was a German typographer , teacher and graphic artist .

From 1935 to 1939 Walter Baum completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter . From 1946 to 1948 the master school for the creative handicraft followed in Offenbach am Main . He then worked as the head of the graphic studio at the Bauersche foundry in Frankfurt am Main . There he developed, among other things, the folio together with Konrad Friedrich Bauer between 1954 and 1963 . From 1972 to 1986 he was the owner and director of the Westend Art School in Frankfurt am Main. Walter Baum last lived in Bad Soden .
