Walter Bechstein (actor)
Walter Bechstein (born April 28, 1918 in Mittelaida ; † January 21, 1983 in Leipzig ) was a German actor .
Life
Walter Bechstein had private acting lessons with Annette Roland in Hamburg in 1943/44, and then with Hans Finohr and Eduard Plate from 1945 to 1947 . After his debut at the Glauchau district theater , Bechstein played at the Young Generation Theater in Dresden and at the city theaters in Eisenach and Rudolstadt. From 1960 he was engaged at the Magdeburg Municipal Theaters , where he embodied, among other things, the secretary Wurm in Friedrich Schiller's Kabale und Liebe or the Junker Bleichenwang in the Shakespeare comedy What you want .
From the mid-1950s onwards, Bechstein mainly took on supporting roles in front of the camera in various DEFA productions, such as in the fairy tale film Sixes Come Through the World or the literary film adaptation The Light on the Gallows .
