Walter Breidenbach

Walter Breidenbach (* 1893 in Frankfurt am Main , † 1984 in Göttingen ) was a German educator .

He was after the study of mathematics and physics in the teaching profession in many years Berlin operates. In 1938 he switched to teacher training , initially at the teacher training college in Trier . Since 1946 he and a small group of colleagues have been involved in setting up the Adolf Reichwein University in Celle . Until the end of the winter semester 1958/59, Breidenbach held a chair at the university, which had meanwhile moved to Osnabrück .

The Federal President awarded Professor Breidenbach the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 1980 or 1981 for his great services to the didactics of mathematics and to the development of universities of teacher education .
