Walter D. Kamphoefner

Walter D. Kamphoefner (born March 5, 1948 in Missouri ) is an American historian .

Life

Walter D. Kamphoefner studied at the University of Missouri-Columbia , where he obtained his master's degree in 1972 and in 1975/76 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . At the University of Missouri, he received his doctorate in 1978 , Dr. phil. In 1988 he went to Texas A&M University , where he has been a professor of history since 1995. His main research interests are 19th century American history, particularly American immigration and German emigration to the United States.
