Walter Denkert
Walter Denkert (born February 23, 1897 in Kiel ; † July 9, 1982 ibid) was a German officer , most recently lieutenant general in World War II .
Life
Denkert served as an officer in the First World War . After the war he switched to the police service and worked in a volunteer corps immediately after the war . During the Second World War he briefly led the 6th Panzer Division , the 19th Panzer Division and, from 1944 until the end of the war, the 3rd Panzer Grenadier Division .
