Walter Heid

Walter Heid (born June 4, 1925 in Neupotz ; † November 12, 2003 in Germersheim ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school in Neupotz from 1931 to 1938 and the Kandel commercial vocational school , he completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk from 1939 to 1942 . In 1942 he completed this with the sales assistant examination. After RAD , military service (last lieutenant of the res.) He was an American prisoner of war until October 1945.

Heid worked in the family business from 1945 to 1946. He was then managing director of Raiffeisenbank Neupotz until 1955. From 1956 he worked as an independent businessman (fruit wholesaler) in Rülzheim .

Political party

Heid joined the JU in 1948 and the CDU in 1952. In the CDU he was a. a. Chairman of the CDU local association Rülzheim, chairman of the CDU district association Germersheim and member of the Rheinhessen-Pfalz district executive.

MP

Heid was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from May 18, 1971 to November 17, 1981 . In the 7th electoral term he was a member of the Committee on Agriculture and Viticulture and the Committee on Economics and Transport. In the 8th electoral term he was a member of the Committee on Agriculture, Viticulture and Environmental Protection and the Committee on Economy and Transport. In the 9th electoral term he was in the Committee on Agriculture, Viticulture and Forestry, the Committee on the Environment and the Committee on Economy and Transport.

Other engagement

He was a member of the supervisory board of the Südpfälzer Volksbank Landau , the general assembly of the IHK Ludwigshafen and 25 years first chairman and then honorary president of the fruit and vegetable wholesaling association of the Palatinate.

• Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon (1979)

The state of Rhineland-Palatinate honored him with the award of the Freiherr vom Stein plaque .
