Walter Krafft

Walter Krafft (born June 23, 1936 in Bucharest , Romania ) is a German pianist and music teacher .

life and work

Walter Krafft was born in the Romanian capital in 1936 and received his first music lessons from his mother Hermine Krafft (1903–1993), who had been trained in Vienna and Berlin before the Second World War . He then studied at the Bucharest Conservatory (since 2001: National Music University Bucharest ) as a student of Florica Musicescu , the teacher of Dinu Lipatti .

After these studies he developed an intensive concert career. In 1967 he founded a music school of the highest level in Munich , the Munich Music Seminar . In addition, Walter Krafft has founded a record label in which the results of the best students at this music school are recorded, namely those who deserve substantial support for their careers. He is regularly invited to master classes in Italy, Spain, Romania, Argentina and Brazil, as well as a juror at major international piano competitions .
