The Munich Music Seminar - International Music School is a music school with international contacts and teaching methods in the center of the Bavarian capital (near Sendlinger-Tor-Platz).

history

In 1967 Hermine and Walter Krafft founded the Munich Music Seminar. Since then, Walter Krafft has also been the head of this school. Jacques Plat is the Managing Director.

Study and educational concept

All ages are taught in this school. In addition, every requirement is met: the level of the students ranges from amateur musicians to professional artists. The school adapts to the needs of each student individually, which means that beginners are just as welcome as advanced students. On request, music lessons are also available in different languages, which is why the school has the additional nickname “International Music School”. Interested parties are not required to have a contract with a minimum term. The institute has another special feature: it is not limited to teaching students until they are ready for concerts, but also tries to give the best among them a concert career.

The educational concept is divided into the following stages:

  1. Early education through playful introduction to music; Children's music circles for making music together.
  2. House concerts as a lively social music experience, getting used to the security of presentations and appearance.
  3. Participation of the students in youth concerts of the music seminar.
  4. Chamber music evenings and public solo concerts at a professional level in the form of school events.
  5. Organization of an international podium and worldwide tours and exchange concerts.
  6. Production and distribution of CDs.

For the all-round promotion of the next generation of musicians through musical and music theory events on a non-profit basis, there is a support association Münchener Musikseminar eV based in Munich. He also supports the annual Carl Filtsch composition and piano competition in Sibiu , Romania , which was first organized in autumn 1995 by Walter Krafft and Peter Szaunig.
