Florica Musicescu
Florica Musicescu (born May 21, 1887 in Iași , † March 19, 1969 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian pianist and music teacher .
Florica Musicescu was the daughter of the conductor and composer Gavriil Musicescu . She taught piano at the Bucharest Conservatory and shaped almost all Romanian pianists around the middle of the twentieth century. In addition to Radu Lupu and Dinu Lipatti , her students also included Corneliu Gheorghiu , Paul Dan , Sorin Enachescu , Constantin Iliescu , Mîndru Katz , Tamás Vesmás and Shulamith Shapira , as well as composers such as Mihai Brediceanu and Myriam Marbe . She was also the teacher of the Bucharest-born German pianist Walter Krafft , the founder and director of the Munich Music Seminar .
Florica Musicescu was awarded the titles "Honored Professor" and "Honored Artist".
