Walter Langebeck

Walter Langebeck (born June 9, 1910 in Kiel , † October 20, 1998 in Schweinfurt ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending primary school, Langebeck completed an apprenticeship as an engine fitter, then worked in this profession and joined the union in 1925. He continued his education with specialist courses and courses and also attended a boarding school where he took courses in economics and social policy. From 1939 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier, with a one-year break .

Langebeck moved to Franconia in 1946 and settled in Schweinfurt. From 1947 he was head of the legal department of the Bavarian trade union federation , later became head of the legal department of the DGB and was executive chairman of the DGB district committee from 1952 to 1962. At the same time, he was chairman of the board of AOK Schweinfurt from 1953 . He also acted as a judge at the regional labor court.

Political party

Langebeck joined the Socialist Workers' Youth (SAJ) in 1925 and had been a member of the SPD since 1928. In 1946/47 he acted as district secretary of the SPD in Schweinfurt.

MP

Langebeck was a council member of the city of Schweinfurt from 1956 to 1961. From April 17, 1954, when he replaced the retired MP Franz Op den Orth , until the end of the electoral term in December 1954, he was a member of the Bavarian state parliament . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1961 to 1972. He was always drawn into parliament via the state list of the SPD Bavaria .
