Walter Larisch (born July 12, 1937 ) is a former German football player who played 43 games in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football , for SC Chemie Halle between 1957 and 1961 , scoring five goals.

Athletic career

In 1956, SC Chemie Halle-Leuna had to compete in the second-rate GDR league after being relegated from the GDR league . 19-year-old Walter Larisch was also involved in the immediate resurgence with one game and one goal. In the league season 1957 Larisch came in the second half of the team after the Halle had to deal with several player failures. In his twelve league appearances, he was first used in the left midfield, later as a half-left striker and came to three goals. In 1958, Larisch lost his regular place again and was only used five times in league games in the first half of the season, came only to one goal. When SC Chemie merged with SC Wissenschaft Halle in the summer of 1958 , dropping the addition "Leuna", the GDR league team of SC Wissenschaft became the 2nd team of SC Chemie. This was reinforced by several league players, including Walter Larisch. Of the games still to be played in the GDR league, he played ten games and was successful with four goals.

The second team reached fourth place at the end of the season, but had to relegate to the third-class II. DDR -Liga, because the league team was relegated again. Although SC Chemie II had been handed over to the newly founded soccer section of the university sports community in Halle, Larisch stayed with the sports club and managed to play his way back into its core team during the GDR league games. Now mainly called up in the right midfield, he completed 22 of the 26 point games and this time was significantly involved in the immediate return to the league. For the first time in a season he was without a goal for Halle.

Larisch was able to defend his regular place in the league season in 1960 with 23 point games and was back on the scorers list with one hit. In 1961, after six years, games in GDR football were switched back to the summer-spring rhythm. In addition, a league season with 39 point games was played between winter 1961 and spring 1962. At the same time, the SC Chemie Halle had largely renewed its league team. Larisch fell victim to this fact, he was banned from the starting eleven and only used three times until the tenth game day. During the summer break he was given to the Berlin Police Sports Association SG Dynamo Hohenschönhausen .

The SG Dynamo was playing in the first GDR league at that time and also had 39 point games to play. Of the 26 league games still to be played, Larisch played 24 games in which he scored four goals. In the season 1962/63 he was no longer in the squad of the police sports community. In the 1966/67 season Larisch belonged to the collective of the company sports community (BSG) Chemie Jena , which had just risen from the third-rate district league to the GDR league. He played all 30 point games, but scored no goals. At the end of the season, BSG Chemie was relegated and the 30-year-old Larisch did not return to higher-class football.
