Walter Leinweber (born April 18, 1907 in Füssen , † March 2, 1997 ) was a German ice hockey goalkeeper .
Career
Walter Leinweber took part with Germany in the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , where he and his team won the bronze medal. He himself was used in all six games during the tournament - indispensable in his case, as the German team (unthinkable today!) Had only come with one goalkeeper. At the 1934 World Cup , he won the bronze medal with the national team. As the best European team, Germany again became European champions.
At club level, the goalkeeper played for EV Füssen , with whom he won the German championship in 1949 . Leinweber is a member of the German Hall of Fame , which is run by the Ice Hockey Museum.
