Walter Lohmann (politician, 1927)

Walter Lohmann (born August 28, 1927 in Stade ) is a German trade unionist and former member of the Hamburg Parliament for the SPD .

Life

After attending primary school in Stade, Lohmann trained in non-technical railroad service. He spent the years 1945/1946 with labor service , military service and imprisonment . Various activities followed at the Deutsche Bundesbahn . He was elected by his colleagues to the staff council and the works council chairman. In 1954/1955 he studied at the Academy of Work within the University of Frankfurt am Main . From 1955 to 1958 he sat for the SPD on the city council of Stade. Since 1956 he worked full time for the railway workers' union. In 1980 he was promoted to District Manager Hamburg.

From 1970 to 1986 Lohmann moved as a member of the Hamburg parliament. He worked primarily on the Schools and Vocational Training , Science and Research , and Legal Affairs committees.

He is married and has three children.

  • Board of Trustees of the Paul and Margarethe Claussen Foundation in Rissen .
  • Head of the political adult education institution, Working Group Work and Life , DGB / Adult Education Center - State Organization Hamburg.
  • Board member of the Hamburg Railway College.
