Walter Niens

Walter Niens (born July 14, 1905 ; † June 22, 1999 ) was a professor at the Technical University of Berlin and a member of the AEG board .

Life stations

Niens studied electrical engineering and education in Frankfurt am Main . There he joined the Arminia fraternity in Frankfurt . From the Technical University of Gdansk, where he was since April 1, 1933 research assistant, he was in 1936 with the work "On measuring the yield of X-ray fluorescence using the counter tube" Dr. rer. tech. PhD.

Niens had been a lecturer at the TU Berlin since 1956 and honorary professor from 1958 . Most recently he was on the board of directors of the AEG group.

Memberships

Niens became an honorary member of the Berlin Mathematical Society in 1965 , and from 1971 to 1983 was the chairman of the Society of Friends of the TU Berlin V. (honorary member from 1987) and became an honorary member in 1979 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the TU Berlin. Furthermore, Niens was a member of the Physical Society in Berlin .
