politics

Walter Pilger had been a member of the Thuringian state parliament since June 29, 2004, where he was the specialist spokesman for social and labor market policy. In the state elections in Thuringia in 2004 , Pilger ran for the constituency Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis I as a direct candidate, but was subject to Thomas Kretschmer , the candidate of the CDU , and the PDS applicant Jörg Kubitzki , but entered the state parliament via the state list .

In the state elections in 2009 , he did not run on the SPD state list. This time he applied for a direct mandate in the constituency of Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis II , where he again only took third place behind Annette Lehmann and Benno Lemke and was therefore unable to return to the state parliament.

In addition to his partisan work, he is a member of the ver.di trade union and has been an active trade unionist since 1974.

Walter Pilger is now the specialist service manager of the Family & Youth Service in the Unstrut-Hainich district office.
