Walter Posth

Walter Posth (born November 9, 1914 in Cologne-Mülheim ; † October 21, 1988 in Meisenheim am Glan ) was a German Protestant pastor and author.

Live and act

Walther Posth was initially from 1945 to 1957 Protestant pastor in Wuppertal - Wichlinghausen . Then he was Rhenish youth pastor until 1969 and then again, until 1980, parish pastor in Meisenheim am Glan. In 1960 he laid the foundation stone for the Evangelical Youth Academy in Radevormwald, of which he was acting director until 1962. He was also a co-founder of the youth ring in Wuppertal and its chairman from 1949 to 1969. His estate, i.e. his sermons, lectures as a state youth pastor and photo portfolio on the occasion of the farewell in 1969, is in the archive of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland , Düsseldorf .

Walther Posth was buried in the Meisenheim am Glan cemetery. Walter-Posth-Platz in Wuppertal is named after him.
