Walter Rohner

Walter Rohner (born July 3, 1923 in Rebstein ; † May 2, 2002 in Bern ) was a Swiss politician .

Life

Rohner went to school in Urnäsch , the Einsiedeln seminary and studied 1945-1950 Administrative Sciences at the University of St. Gallen , where he in 1951 to Dr. rer. publ. PhD . From 1950 to 1952 he was secretary of the Association of Swiss Ship Embroidery Manufacturers . From 1952 he was editor-in-chief of the Swiss business newspaper . He moved to Bern , then to Köniz . From 1967 to 1971 he was a conservative Christian Social National Councilor and a member of the military commission. From 1973 to 1988 he was editor-in-chief of the members' newspaper of the Touring Club Switzerland , and he was president of the Swiss Road Transport Association . He was a member of the Swiss Student Association and a colonel in the Swiss Army .
