Walter Sahli

Walter Sahli (born January 20, 1860 in Bern , † November 15, 1916 ibid) was a Swiss doctor , son of the Bernese government councilor Christian Sahli and brother of Hermann Sahli . Walter Sahli was a pioneer in the professionalization of Swiss nursing and the founder of the “Lindenhof” hospital in Bern (see Sonnenhof AG Bern ).

biography

Sahli was a doctor, a long-time hospital and family doctor in Langenthal and a captain in the Swiss army . An officer degree was also a prerequisite for the position of Central Secretary of the Swiss Red Cross (SRC), for which he was appointed by the Central Association on February 28, 1898.

He was married to Fanny Louise Rummel from 1885. In 1890 he founded the Samaritan Association Langenthal , one of the very early Samaritan associations that had come together in the Swiss Samaritan Association founded in 1888 .

In 1908 he was committed to helping the victims of the Messina earthquake in 1908 .
