Walter Sartorius

Walter Sartorius (born May 11, 1875 in Holsterhausen ; † May 2, 1937 in Planegg ) was a German architect .

Sartorius was born in a later part of the city of Essen. He studied architecture at the Technical University of Stuttgart and became a member of the Corps Bavaria Stuttgart. At the age of 23 he moved to Planegg. Sartorius was best known for its numerous modern, historicizing villa buildings in Pasing and the Würmtal communities of Planegg, Krailling , Stockdorf and Gauting . He was also a member of the board of the construction company for family houses and villas (Heimstättengesellschaft mbH) and founded the Würmtalverein in 1907 , which was committed to preserving the traditional appearance of the town. In 1937 he died in his house at Karlstrasse 5.

Today the Walter-Sartorius-Strasse in Planegg, so named in 1994, commemorates the builder.
