Walter Schönenberger (art critic)
Walter (Gualtiero) Schönenberger (* 1926 in Lugano ) is a Swiss art scholar .
Life
Schönenberger received his PhD in art history from the University of Basel . “Until 1969 he worked as a freelance art critic in Ticino , and until 1982 as a teacher of art history in Lugano. He organized exhibitions in Italy , Switzerland and the Federal Republic of Germany . ”From 1983 he was director of the museums and the office for culture of the city of Lugano.
