Walter Steffen

Walter Steffen (born March 9, 1955 in Oberstdorf ) is a German film director , screenwriter and producer.

Life

After graduating from high school, Walter Steffen initially worked as a hut keeper, port and factory worker, land surveyor, trucker and film lighting fixture. He toured Europe, North and Central America, Arabia, North Africa and Asia. He was the director of a theater group, wrote plays, scripts, short stories and short stories and made Super 8 short films at an early age .

In 1981 Walter Steffen completed an internship in the Schauburg (Munich) , afterwards an internship at the television production Die Cause , directed by Michael Verhoeven and with Otto Sander in the lead role. This was followed by other activities in film and television productions as a driver, lighting technician , production and assistant director .

Since 1985 Walter Steffen has worked as a freelance author and director for industrial, training and image films. He also makes his own fictional short films with international festival participations and awards (Bilbao, Trondheim, Locarno). Walter Steffen has been writing scripts for film and television since 1991, with co-author Manfred Birkl until 2002 .

As an author, director and producer, he has been making documentaries since 2007, which he brings to the cinemas as a self-lender.

Walter Steffen is married and has three sons. Today he lives and works at Lake Starnberg .
