Walter Wüst (ornithologist)

Walter Wüst (born September 3, 1906 in Munich ; † November 28, 1993 ) was a German ornithologist and high school professor.

From 1952 to 1968 he was a teacher of biology and chemistry at the Wilhelmsgymnasium in Munich . He was also a lecturer in ornithology at Munich University from 1953 to 1974 . From 1953 to 1977 he was chairman of the Ornithological Society in Bavaria, then honorary chairman until his death. His main work are the two volumes of the Avifauna Bavariae . Since 1929 he had published several hundred articles, mainly on ornithology.

1969 awarded him the Bavarian Academy of Sciences the medal Bene merenti in silver.
